Tick-borne Disease is Increasing 2x Annually with Climate Change

  • With deforestation, smaller forest fragments have 3x higher tick density

  • Increasing temperatures allow tick’s life cycles to speed up & live longer seasons

  • Ticks are moving into new areas as more climates become livable

But we can prevent it, together

Invest in education,

protect future generations

Lyme & tick-borne diseases are preventable, and if diagnosed early, can be managed easily.

But only 54% of survey respondents had heard of Lyme disease in a newly at-risk region.

Those in high-risk communities and newly at-risk regions are the most vulnerable.

Understanding Donations

  • Your donation will educate the public about prevention, symptomology, diagnosis, treatment, and patient experience. Through community programming and advertising and social campaigns, we will increase literacy around Lyme & tick-borne diseases to protect our loved ones for future generations.

  • Our goal is to educate everyone (eventually…) To maximize impact, we will start by focusing on the most at-risk and accessible populations. Groups that spend more time outside increase risk, so we plan to begin with outdoorsmen/outside hobbyists, parents/children, pet owners/pets, and outside frontline workers. Climate change activists and gen Z are already mobile and accessible online, so we hope to scale education through their engagement.

  • We measure success by measuring Lyme+ literacy in key areas across general awareness, prevention, symptomology, diagnostics, treatment, and patient experience. We will measure our impact by measuring increases in Lyme literacy, or knowledge, through pre-program and post-program surveys. Our ultimate goal is for a majority of people in a public space to know the “ABCs” of Lyme+, because that means people care!

  • We are committed to maintaining lean operations while continuing to invest in growth and providing a transparent donor experience. In our “ad-agency” model, we’ll budget out one project at a time to ensure efficient use of funds as well as the ability to track which donations educate which communities.
